E-2/E-1 Biz & Projects

By e2advisor - Posted on 13 July 2010

An E-2 investor can invest in an existing business (E Enterprise) or establish a new E-2 enterprise business. Such E-2 enterprise can be any commercial enterprise entity in any commercial industry areas, such as restaurant, hotel, gas station, retailer, wholesale, internet service provider, etc.

One of the most popular type of businesses which E investors pursue is a franchise business, mainly because franchisors provide some level of support and to certain extent, there is already established set-up. However, it should be noted that depending on type of franchises and their brand-names, there could be a significant barrier and requirements to obtaining the right to invest in a franchise business. These requirements may especially be cumbersome to foreign business persons who might not possess the patience and willingness to meet specific requirements of a franchise system. Therefore, it is encouraged that an E-2 investor seeking to invest in a franchise business retain consultation services from an experienced franchise attorney or consultant who possess good working relationship with various franchisors and the requirements. Just having a lot of money will not be enough to become a franchisee owner from a relatively well-known franchisor.
